4.To the rehearsal stage

The copied score is put together with the title and needed number of part scores are prepared. Then the last proofread is done. Mr. Hasegawa brings this score to be in time for the rehearsal. He rides trains, buses even taxies to the destination. The delayed arrangement gets in time due to the efforts of score-copying specialists.
At the rehearsing stage, all the performers are on stand by. The just arrived scores are set in front of each player and the rehearsal starts as scheduled. At a large concert a member of our company, occasionally with the specialist, remains to respond to the changes made during the rehearsal.
The rehearsal has finished and some changes are found to be made. Small adjustments are made at the place, but large changes like transposition requires the whole score rewrite. To deal with large changes, we bring back the score and go through the same process in order to keep the deadline.

5.At the concert stage

After several rehearsals, the completed version of the music score is set up on the musical stands. Each player puts down checks and marks on the completed score and some looks even messy, but those hand-written information leads to a wonderful performance.

At last the stage begins

Could you follow the job of score copying process? Our job doesn’t appear on the stage, but supports the performance a great deal; without the score copying process, concerts couldn’t be held. We work hard for the audience to meet a magnificent performance. We hope you to recognize our work, the next time you go to a concert.
