3.Score Copy begins Mr. Hasegawa has come back with the arranged score. Some scores come by facsimile. He once goes through the score, then takes number of Xerox needed for the work. Depending on the schedule, he gives instructions to the score-copying specialists and the work begins. Mr. Akaishizawa, considering time remaining, would choose the fastest way for the score copy. He distributes the arranged score, long score divided into some sections at one time, at another time, starting work from both beginning and the end of the score at the same time. It is not rare for many jobs to come at the same time. We often experience three, four or even more score copying jobs to go side by side. Each dead line is strictly given, so the specialists need to gather by the first train in the morning, now and then. Every score has its own characteristics; it exhibits the arranger's habits and often is roughly written, some even includes mistakes. However, our score-copying specialists rewrite this score into beautiful part scores. Even if the arranged score is behind time, we are helpless. Mr. Akaishizawa gets really nervous when the opening of the concert becomes closer. While > waiting for the arranged score to come, the title is put in the already copied score. When the score copy is finished, and the title is put in, required number of scores are prepared by Xerox especially for the parts with many players like strings.
